Unhappy Still got the wobble!

Last friday i installed my new Rock Krawler track bar. Did seem to help tight the front up. But took it out for a ride this last weekend after that and still seem to get death wobble! I stopped on a back road and was looking at everything and noticed that when you move the steering wheel side to side the steering box also wiggles a bite. I know that they are weak points on XJs. Do you guys think that is what is giving me the death wobble still? I just ordered a MORE brace and i think i am going to get a new spacer to get rid of that cheep cast one. Don't know if my spacer is broke yet but i would imagine with the play i have up there! Thanks guys and let me know what ya think.

Put on a heavy duty steering damper from pro/comp, it will not cure the cause but the wobble will stop.

I was planning on getting a damper but i would like to fix the steering box itself first. I know it shouldn't move one there. I think that it is that spacer that is most of my problem.

C-Rock used to make a plate to stiffen the steering box. I would do a search for it, and buy or make one. On my rig I just made my bumper mounts 6" high and went back 18" on unibody to double as a power steering box brace. Then upgrade the aluminum spacer between the box and unibody with a steel one.

Get that loose steering box replaced. Then check all front end linkages and bushings. Make shure to re-tighten you new track bar mount. Get a alignment after that, Becuse anytime the steering box moves it affects alignment. And you dont want to get an alignment then find out you had another loose steering component.

After that I would start with what usually cured my death wobble. Balance your tires!

HD steering stabalizer wont hurt.

Ya i think all i need now is just the steel spacer and i will be all set because i am pretty sure that my bumper has big enough plates to reinforce the out side of the sub frame and i got the bracket that comes from the other side of the frame that holds the box on the way.

You may just need to tighten the bolts. Adjust the steering box while you are at it and that will probably solve your problems

OK i think i have everything order to fix this problem! I don't know if i need both of the steering braces but i figured since i already have a problem with the Uni frame now i should use both of them. I have these parts coming. A M.O.R.E Steering box brace. And a C-Rok inside and out side kit also. I am going to put the outside plate under my bumper plate.

there is an adjustment on the top of the box that adjusts the backlash between the input shaft and sector shaft gears. usually doesn't need to be messed with. i had death wobble on my jeep and it turned out the control arm bushings were bad. only lasted 180,000 miles, darn it. the bushing looked ok but when you put a prybar on them you could get 1/4-3/8" of play without really trying.

Ya i got looking around yesterday at the Jeep and now that something on the inside of the frame where the box bolts in is gone or broke. I hope that is just that cast spacer in there and not the frame itself. You can see the bolts move when you turn the wheel. I don't see any cracks on the outside of the frame tho.
