Stock CD player being a spaz
So I have a stock CD player in my 98 XJ, as far as I know it's not the original stereo but is a stock Jeep stereo which is what the PO told me 3 years ago when I bought it. I believe the original was a Cassette/CD combo stereo and was replaced with this one (quick google image search result). The PO said before him it was a fleet vehicle and the stereo had to be replaced for some reason.
I've been having problems with it playing burned CD's. Most of the time it'll read them fine, but I have noticed in the morning or when the temperature is cool, it will not read it and give an Err code on the display. But when it's been running for a few minutes, or the heater's been on it'll usually play it fine. I also noticed a burned CD with say 15 tracks and room for more is more likely to work than one with 20 tracks and almost no room for even one more track. The CD's work fine in my home stereo and computer, but when I try listening to them in my Jeep I'll sometimes have problems. I've thought about getting a new stereo for this reason but not sure when I will as the height of all the aftermarket ones I've found are either too small or too big. I recently found this one, JVC Arsenal KD-A615 CD receiver at Crutchfield Signature but even though the site says it'll fit it doesn't look like it would.
If anyone can shed light on this I'd really appreciate it!

Yeah, that's what I noticed too. All the aftermarket ones I can find are skinny ones that are too small or big touch screen ones that are bigger than the stock one
