Stock drive shaft length? Ax15, 8.25, old style 231j
Hello, I did a transfer case swap and the new one has the older style tail housing on it making my drive shaft too short now.
My Cherokee is a 5 speed with a Chrysler 8.25 and now has a 231 with the old style metal housing. I need the measurement of the stock rear drive shaft so I can have my old one lengthened as it is now a little too short. Thanks.

What year it's your XJ and what year is your new case from? For what it's worth getting yours lengthened, get a slip yoke eliminator and CV driveshaft or go to the JY and pull one from a XJ if you can find one with a 5 speed and same case

Yeah the junkyard charges 100 around here for a driveshaft , and its only 50 to lengthen.
The jeep is a 96 and they told me that the new t case is a 96 but it has the old style metal tail shaft housing?
