stock spring heights, ZJ, XJ, Sport, Limited ?
Is it correct that certain XJ models have a 1" taller factory front springs, than other models
Is it correct ZJ (Grand Cherokee) factory front springs are either 2" (or 3") taller than stock XJ springs ?
I have a '96 Sport, and I installed a 2" lift kit that came out of my spare Limited
Due to the unknown age of the kit, and they have now had 6 years hard life in my Sports, they are "bent", and allow the suspension parts to make contact, especially springs and sway bar link end
So I order 40-50mm heavy duty lift springs, they ask me whether Sport or Limited?...I reply Sport without thinking
Anyway, they are stuffing me about endlessly and I am pissed
If I can get stock ZJ springs I will use them if they are 2" lift
I can pack them as I have spacers if there is a small discrepancy, and I can add a small lift at the rear shackles if I need to level up
I observe that the front springs wire diameter is MUCH smaller than my similar weight Jaguar
In addition, I have also noticed having this improper spring situation makes handling more difficult, and appears to contribute to a tendency for more difficult brake control, which can lead to the front brakes locking up in wet weather

Only thing I can add is that the Sport came from factory with a 1" lift.
( I think JJ over at ausjeepoffroad has had a post or two about heights fwiw, haven't been there for a while)
