Post Stock wheel and tire size?

Hi all, I'm new both here and to the Jeep XJ community. I'm having trouble nailing down the exact specs for stock wheels and tires on a 2000. For example, I'm not sure what Backspacing and Offset are and why I should worry about them. Also, can anyone confirm the wheel bolt pattern as 5x4.5? I apologize if this has been posted already, but I cant seem to find it on this forum. Thanks in advance!

Most stock XJ alloy wheels were 15x7 with 5.25" of backspacing (and I think 25mm offset). Offset is how much the center of the wheel is shifted in or out from the mounting surface. Positive offset moves the wheel inward towards the vehicle. Backspacing is related and easier to measure with a ruler. It's the distance from the vehicle facing edge of the wheel to the mounting surface. Larger backspacing also moves the wheel inward.

Yes, 5x4.5 for the bolt pattern.
