Stock window tint on my 98 is 20%. I tinted the front windows with 20 and it matches perfectly.
I've tinted the windows on my truck, its not hard, just takes some practice.
1. Put some soapy water in a spray bottle(Don't use windex or anything like that, the amonia will fade the tint. Just put some dish soap and water in a squirt bottle.)
2. Spray window with a good amount of soapy water
3. Remove backing from tint and stick on window
4. Use squeegy and remove most of the water from in between the window and the tint
5. Cut tint to fit window
6. Remove remaining water
Just take your time and you'll be fine. The most difficult part is just getting the tint cut just right and getting the bubbles out. Just a tip I'd do it when it's warm outside so that it won't take a month for the water to dry.

Don't know the tint laws there but in NJ NO tint is allowed on front windows of vehicle period. Most Police don't bother you here unless you have 5% limo tint...Tj

I tint all my vehicles.. Just some lessons learned here....
a) IMO, DIY is a hassle and time consuming. Shop around for a tint shop, tint is fast and cheap... just might be one of those jobs to farm out.
b) check the laws in your state for tint. Atleast in Ohio, the front door windows can not be dark. I went dark once thinking I'll get away with it. 2 tickets in 4 days. AND another pull over/warning when I was driving my car back to the tint shop for removal! UGH.
c) illegal tint is easy to spot by the LEOs and a reason to pull you over for a $150+ ticket. Some states give you a fix-it ticket and you have to go to court to prove you removed the tint.
Again, I love the tint, but most states have restricting laws and it is easy to enforce...
