Default straight pipe?

i want to put straight 2.5 inch straight pipe on my xj. its got about 230 hp but still sounds like a wuss car so i want to make it a little tougher, but dont want to care if i scrape it on the rocks. so do you think this would help?

Flowmaster or Glasspack without A Cat would be loud.I have A Cat and Glasspack its loud as **** with cat still on

well i live in a snobby town. yeah we kicked out walmart and ruby tuesdays and red robin. they kicked out red robin cuz they wouldn't let them have red roof! so i have to pass emmisions every 2 years and it barely passes now so a cat-converter is a must!
and it cant be too loud cuz its my daily driver. i just dont want to sound wimpy when it packs a pretty good punch.

Keep the stock cat or get a high flow one and then put a Flowmaster Super 40 on it.

like said above high flow cat and a cat back system, you tube is a great place to find the sound your looking for!

I straight piped mine with 2 in diameter all the way back after the cat and it sounds like a dodge suped up.
