your radio went of when you hit the brakes cuz there wasent enough juice to run radio AND light up your brake lights...and hey when the check engine light comes again (it will its a Jeep) then turn your radio off to hear if the hamsters under the hood are restless and making noise...you could hear something and shut the engine off before serious damage occurs...just a thought

Took it to autozone today, tested my alt it was fine, my battery was putting out 12 amps watts whatever and it's at 87%. They said I should tune it up and do new battery wires/ connections. Got me a fun week coming
Ps, we were testing the alt, and keeping it round 2k rpms for the test. When we let it down to idle, it died. We did the same thing and it died again. Any ideas why...?

important information if we are going to be able to help you.
12.6 volts, engine not running is normal and 14.6 volts would be correct with the engine running (meassured across battery terminals).
I suggest you clean the battery terminals and any grounds you can find. Remove the ground connections and sand/wire brush them untill they are shiney then use dielectric grease on the connections (battery terminals too).
engine may die at idle because of bad electrical connections

Haha it was 12.6 and I didnt know the correct units and was too lazy to look em up. It runs at 14 while running.
I'm going to clean the battery terminals and get new connectors this week and do the spark plugs and wires as well.
It's never died before, only did today after letting it fall from 2k

Before you do anything else, grab some sandpaper, and freshen up all of your ground connections, especially the one beside the battery and also the one on the back of the valve cover. There is also one at the oil dipstick tube attachment bolt. Bad grounds are the primary cause of issues like these.
Also clean up the battery terminals really well and consider replacing them completely.

My battery is a 75 mo battery, autozone and batteries plus said it was 88%. Autozone said my alternator was fine. Currently my battery gauge reads 12.5 running. When i start the car, it starts fine and everything works fine, except the wipers and sprayers seem weak. If you turn everything on and have heat and radio full blast, the gauge dropps to 9, but everything still works fine. After turning everything off, the gauge stays at 9. If you turn the car off and back on, it starts normal and everything is fine. The cycle repeats. Not sure what the problem could be here. I removed my hitch lights and fog lights from my battery.
