Stripped lug nut BAD!!!!!! HELP!!!!
So i was trying to start my lift and I can't get one of my lugs loose. So I end up stripping it out and well long story short here we are.

an older cherokee came into my work and needed the tire repaired. when i went to take off the lugs, 3 of them wouldnt budge with my impact. i lowered the vehicle and got two with a huge breaker bar. but one sheared right off. ive never seen anything like it. you could try drilling it out but what i did was took off the dif cover and got the c clip out and pulled the whole axle shaft out with the wheel and drum still attached. this way i could get to the back of the stud to grind it down. it is tapered so you will need to pound it out with a bfh. i drilled a hole in the back of it and it only took a couple whacks. this of course only works if this is on the rear of the vehicle with drum brakes. you will need new dif fluid, rtv, a stud and lug nut. it looks like that lug nut is sitting pretty far down in your wheel. they also make sockets that are specifically made for stripped nuts that will tighten as you turn. i forget their exact name. good luck man

Basically what you see is a very short stud(from being chiseled) and the tapered part of the lug but is now the only portion left of the lug nut, and it is sitting even where it seat in the rim, and it's up front so it's disc brakes

You really only have two options.
1. Drill it out from the front like these other folks have said.
2. Unbolt the brake caliper bracket and unit bearing and slide the whole axle out. Remove the axle and grind the stud down from the back side and knock it thru the front. It won't be easy but you don't have much choice.
I'd attempt to drill it out first.

Alrighty, thanks should I try drilling the tapered part or the actual stud? And for the people that don't know what they are looking at everything silver in this photo is gone on the messed up lugnut
