been doing it as a profession for almost 20 years, I have never used a screw driver or seen anyone in the shop do it or even suggest it. Even In my early days as an oil slinger.

I guess we have learned, "why use the proper tool when you can back woods it!" lol

Did the OP even get the filter off?
