Welcome! Did you try backing up? There are classified's near the bottom on the first page. (don't forget the time zones, you posted when 2/3 of the country was sleeping) D.

What I do when my Transfer Case seems stuck in 4x4 I put it into reverse (After I have put the jeep into neutral and put the lever back in 2wd) and drive a little then it should disengage and go back into 2wd.
If that don't work get underneath the jeep and shift the linkage by hand. You might need to re-adjust the linkages and check the fluid in the transfercase

Take out the fill plug and check to make sure there is fluid...

fluid should be all the way up to the bottom of the fill hole, if its not, its low.... and sinse you have it off, drain the Tcase and refill it fresh.

On some 4 wheelers you gotta' back WAY up like 40 feet. You can't force it if it's binding. Hope your tires are all the same size...........

Shift from forward to reverse while trying to shift into 2wd if you get t case to shift into neutral put trans in natural before trying 2wd or she will grind a little some people will tell you I'm crazy and it might be true

Not to hijack, but on mine its impossible to get it into N, or 4Lo. I pull on it hard and it won't budge. Don't want to break it. It goes into 4Hi and back to 2wd fine. Ideas?

There is a good chance the TC linkage needs an adjustment, or there is a pin missing. Get under there and have a buddy shift it and see if you can notice anything.

You have to put the transmission into nuetral in order to put the t case in nuetral or 4lo. Atleast that's how it is for my jeep and our suburban

Edit: whoops I just looked at how this is a year old thread.........................
