Default Stupid Jeep acting funny when wet again.

So today, I was driving on the slushy roads in 4wd and all the sudden my Jeep gets all jumpy and doesn't want to go when I accelerate. The RPMs would jump up and down when I hold the gas in the same place. This happened to me once before when I went through some water but then I put marine grease around the dist. cap and it was fine. But now the same thing just happened!

I don't know what to do. It's so confusing. I don't even know where to look for problems. If this helps, the piece of rubber that guards the bottom of the engine is torn and hanging down a little.

Any ideas guys?

I was going about 30 MPH.

I just pulled off into a subdivison and drove around and it continued to happen for about a minute then it was fine.

?!?!

Did you hit the electical connectors on your coil and ignition module with the marine grease, as well.

You have got something that is feeding your ignition system being shorted out whenever you drive through anything wet.

Nope, I don't even know where that is.

Got a good easy fix for ya since mine would do the same thing.

Just unplug the CPS and plug it back in (canned air may help a lil also). Mine still hasn't done it since I did it.

The CPS is the connector at the back d-side of the valve cover. If the connection on it gets degraded even a lil bit it was cuase your jeep to act all kinds of funny.

I don't know how to do this but I'm sure I can figure it out. Do I need to disconnect the battery for this?

I haven't had a chance to do this yet. Does anyone have a picture of the CPS and where to disconnect? I looked on google but couldn't find a good picture.

CPS connector.

It is located at the rear of your valve cover on the driver's side. THere is only one connector there.

I don't know what it is but severed wires usually aren't good.

Your top two pictures are of your O2 sensor which can make your truck run weird if bad.

Could that severed wire have anything to do with my problem?
