suddenly it doesn't work well anymore!
Hi everyone, I remind you that I write from Italy and my English is scholastic (thank goodness there is google translator). after having participated in a two-day rally (the jeep was working perfectly), suddenly on the way back, after a stop it had great difficulty starting, it no longer picks up the engine revs, when I decelerate and then accelerate the engine crackles, the Exhaust gases smell like old gasoline (but the tank is full of fresh gasoline). for less than two years I have changed the injectors and the fuel pump, spark plug cables, parts of the distributor .... where to start ????
my xj is renix

the rubber tube is in place ... maybe the map sensor is faulty? if yes, how to test it?
also it was a few days that I did not try to turn it on and today it did not even start badly)

The plastic tubing can crack and melt also. The sensors themselves seldom fail.
Unplug the MAP electrical connector and inspect the pins in the connector.

done! I detached and reattached the tube, I also tried to blow hard to check for any leaks. unplugged and reattached the connector and sprayed contact spray .... I am amazed that the problem occurred suddenly. do you rule out feeding (fuel pressure) problems?
it could be an opportunity to buy the fuel pressure tester ....

I don't rule out anything.
Well, except for the MAP line now.
Wouldn't hurt to do a fuel pressure test. Plug wires fairly new? Take a look inside the distributor cap.

Can you run a compression test on the engine? You said that you rallied it pretty hard, so it might just be hurt.

Let's get the fuel pressure checked.
