I like mudding.......in other peoples vehicles! The mud always seems to ruin something when I drive through it. Plugged up radiator, Muddy grit ruined idler pulleys, and above all else The dredded low altitude mud but from the doorsill when I exit said muddy jeep. I enjoy going through it but the repair and cleanup(on my DD) is completely not worth it. Maybe some day down the road when there is a dedicated trail vehicle in my garage but not so much now. A friend of mine just aquired a 96' GC and had wet carpet throughout that wouldn't dry out so we helped her rip it all out. That carpet had a rubber backing on it and would have never dried out on it's own. The moisture was starting to K.O. all of the electronic gadgets in her posh "Limited" GC.

Sunk my 95xj 2wd up to the bottom of the seats in nasty red mud. I tried everything to get the water and funk out but had no luck. Ended up going to the local pull-a-part, 20 bucks, a can of carpet cleaner, and a few hours later I had myself some fresh smelling pre-owned carpet.
As far as taking out the carpet, it sucks in a DD. That 6-banger highway drone in a hollow cabin gets old quick
