Default Super charger?

Please no DID YOU GOOGLE. all i want to know if anyone here at our forums if anyone personally seen a http://www.avengersuperchargers.com/ supercharger or seen them preforming. I just would like to hear anyone's what every one thinks.

The Avenger Supercharger for the 4.0L Jeep engine adds 100hp and 55% more tourque. With the Avenger Supercharger, the 4.0L Six Cylinder is capable of producing over 290hp. Due to the efficiency of the intercooler, we are able to achieve this level of performance at only 4.5-5 psi of boost. There is no cause to worry about premature engine wear or failure. The Intercooled Avenger Supercharger system for the 4.0L costs $4295.00 + tax/s&h.

Buddy of mine had one in Washington a while back. All I can say is INSANE!!!!!
He is still running it with no major issues. I should call him. He said something about wanting to upgrade to a different pulley to increase boost but i don't remember what he did. Supposedly he ran a dyno at 277 hp, but I never saw the sheet or the computer specs. Ran like a beast and sounded great though. He had a 4.5" lift running 33's. He had a custom bumper on front and back. he probably had 500Lbs xtra with all his mods. He had some nice pull though. I loved it but at the time I didn't want to void my factory warranty on my jeep so I never really modded my engine to much.

swap is cheaper? doubtful. By the time your done I highly doubt it would be cheaper. Plus would you really want to give up the reliability of the beautifully made time tested 4.0 I-6!!! I wouldn't. Bore to 4.7 and get the Supercharger is my idea.

the V8 swap is not worth it at all. Your looking at swapping an engine with half the life span, only a little more power and alot more weight. The only thing the V8 has over the i-6 is better response, and that can be fixed. if that thing does what it's advertised to do 270 hp would be front end raising. I'd say go for it but only if your warranty is expired on it

The company says it gets it between 290 and 300. I bet if you bored to 4.7 and used the super charger in conjunction with a tuned exhaust... Id say that would be amazing. pushing 325-350 I bet.

Yea I think you can get a 4.7 kit for 2,200 and the only machine work needed is the bore and hone. That is what I would do if I had absolutely nothing left to do! I don't think I would go all the way to the Supercharger though.

I would have to agree. My first upgrade would be the 4.7 kit. Instant power. Anybody know the spec after a 4.7 bore? hp & torque. I'm curious. I'm not planning on any major changes in the near future. just things to improve a little bit and a make things a little more reliable. tune and what not?

You can't bore out a 4.0L and make it a 4.7L! To get a 4.7L you have to use the AMC 4.2L crank and rods, and bore the 4.0L block .060" over. You get about 70 HP over a stock 4.0L. That's 190+70=260HP! The 5.2L stock puts out 220 HP, but the '98 5.9L H.O. puts out 330HP!

I know you cant use all the same parts. IT like a $2500 build. you can use the 4.0 bore it out and build a 4.7. or 4.6 I don't remember.

Or you can get a JY turbo from a 3.2 to 3.6 L engine, plumb it up as a blow-thru, get 7-10 psi (and not need the intercooler .. in fact, you usually don't need intercoolers until 20 psi levels, btw) and spend less than $400 if you watch the pennies.

Well, I just tried the site's links to Yahoo! forums and they are disbanded and the site hasn't been upgraded since 02. Still, Dick had some good info in the books, if they are still available.

ya the avenger sc's are bad a$$ mothers... but it all depends on what you want to do with your truck... road and track, yes. pre running and baja, ok. mudding, NO! one drop of water and that motor is toast! you compress a drop of water in a sc and BOOM! your expensive nice motor is now crappy scrap metal.
