Suspension question
I own a 1997 Jeep Cherokee and the previous owner never replaced the shocks so they are due.
I'd like to keep a general stock ride height but raise the rear about an 1" to 1.5" to make up for sag in the rear when hauling a trailer.
Not necessarily looking for the cheapest but want to keep and OEM ride quality.
What are my options? I did a search but most of the threads I saw were lift kit related.
Thanks!

If your budget can handle I would look at OME (OldManEmu). Get a set of shocks, are said to be among the best, and Med duty rear springs, $500-$700.

DO NOT USE AN ADD A LEAF! it is one STIFF THICK leaf that goes in your pack. Get a set of shackles for the rear. They will keep your stock ride quality. I have heard many god things aboug using chevy/ford lowering shackles. I personally use Tera Flex shackles as you can grease them and they are beefy and gussetted.

just curious, when you said OEM ride quality, did you mean that you don't want the ride quality to get worse? cause, the ride quality with most lift kits is much better than stock... and more than likely, it will only cost you just a little bit more to get a mild lift kit vs. new shocks and rear leafs.

What mild lift kit are you thinking? After seeing some prices, I think your right. I'd probably be better off going with a 3" lift kit or a little less for the money. There are so many to choose from...I don't want something that will be sagging in the rear after a few years...
