99 laredo with a 98 engine
hey all< i have a 99 laredo that ive been working on. previous owner blew cylinder three piston out of it so i went and bought another engine knowing it was a 98 and being told there isnt a difference between the two but my question is, is there a difference? bcuz im geting a timing difference. cyl. one is spot on with spark, cyl. two is just barely off, cyl. three is retarded by quarter way. havent tried the rest by as its going that seems like by cyl. six i will be 180 out of time. is my computer set for specific timing? i took both timing covers off and everything looks the same to me other than cam gears have the center hole b ut different size outer holes. teeth are also the same, as well as the chains are the same size. thanks in advance, tyler
