Default Sway Bar Bushing - Fitment

Not sure the correct fitment in terms of how tight the bushing sits in the metal housing. The image is from part Moog K3171 - 26MM. it seems to me the bushing is too small. The Moog K3172 - 28MM seems to have too much play. Any thoughts?

I measured with a crescent wrench its either 1 inch or 7/8 inch. That would be 25.4MM or 22.225MM. What are the size sway bars for 1994 Jeep Cherokee XJ?

How well would that blue bushing fit if it wasn't in the curve of the sway bar? Or is that an optical illusion?

This is from my 01, but I think my 92 was the same size. The 15/16 wrench does not fit but the 1 inch has a little play. I use the K3171's. There is a slight gap when just sitting on the bar but it closes up when secured in the bracket. They list as 25 1/2 mm as stamped on the inside. Also the raised stamped numbers may make the interior hole slightly smaller until the bar wears in a little My local speed shop sells this Energy Suspension bushing lube. Its like 15 bucks for a pint jar and will probably last several lifetimes. Its made for all poly and regular bushings. Its like a sticky vaseline but doesnt eat or damage the bushings...Good stuff..you can probably get it on line

I used Moog K3171 on my '91 XJ Laredo 4WD. I am sure it is correct for my year & configuration. It should right for yours unless it came with a different sway bar
