Could be wrong here but in the process of doing the same thing and all locals have all told me to use a front shaft out of a grand with a V8. They said its the right length and same strength for the application. Because ot the V8 its thicker walled to handle the power and longer. Its what I planed on doing. Any one know the pros and cons to that approach. I know I will still need to be vary selective in condition and replace the u-joints.

I clicked on that link and discovered I will never buy a drive shaft from that place. Unless I read it wrong over $300 for a drive shaft!!!!!!!!!! It must be lined with gold and come with a mail order bride! I can have one made in town 3x stronger then a stock one all brand new custom length for $175. Or pick one the reason why I asked is I can get one from a JY for free. I know the owner. For the love of god 300 I got 1500 in to my 99 with 36" swampers bushwacker flairs 5.5".
