Lucas oil stabizer effectivly reduces oil consumption, oil burn, along with many other things.
Reg. oil does not flow through the motor and lube parts as effectivly..
Adding lucas coats and lubes all internal oil parts way better then just useing reg oil.
I have used lucas in many different cars. even ran a car with no oil after useing lucas, and it helped lube the motor and helped from throwing a rod, bending valves, or just straight up stopping the motor..
Do a little research on Lucas Oil and you will you see...

It seems like the extent of your research was the label on your Lucas product.

So you're not actually addressing a specific problem with it?

I have done research into Lucas Oil Stabilizer. I've found a lot of anecdotal stuff that it's very thick and can reduce certain wear in certain situations. However I have found no factual information on why people think it's a good idea to pour in a liquid that is too thick for their oil pump, too thick to flow through many automotive oil galleries at the proper rate at typical temperatures, that's not been certified by the API for use in any automotive engine, and contains no additives, such as ZDDP which are important for our engines.

That's nice that you ran an engine with no oil after using Lucas - it's thick enough that it won't drip off. But in a normal engine - you know, the kind that has oil in it - you're not getting enough oil to the valve train because of the reduced flow.

Bob is the oil guy

Learn it, Love it. I know that letting science into the garage can be scary, but it must be done.

Synthetic blows dino juice away in every category. Cooling/lubrication/total cost... just go read.

Ah the oil argument, I run whatever i decide on and so far 2 oil changes in six months have seen Valvoline and Royal Purple and guess what? No change however, the first oil change when i went from the Fram filter to the Purolator Gold filter made the vast improvement. Just run what is good for motor age and driving conditions and run a quality filter.
