While were on it, is all Rotella synthetic?

I've been leery about switching to synthetic before fixing my leaks, for fear of making them worse.

They also offer a blend. Here's info on their products.

I just did a oil/filter change. First time with Rotella. Made it from my garage to the house with no problem.

One word of warning. This oil is designed for Diesel engine use. While it doesn't say so on the Shell website, it may contain compounds that will shorten the life of the catalytic converter when burned.

It's certified by the API at "SM" for use in gasoline engines, which supercedes the original factory specifications. It's fine. Just like every single oil that everybody was running prior to 2010. No need for FUD here please.

My wife just bought another gal today at $19.99. We were told it was a nationwide deal.

Which NAPA did you check at? I just checked online at a NAPA store in Detroit. Genuine Parts Co. in Garden City shows $19.99. Search the stores on the link below for one near you. I would guess that even the stores that say they don't know about the $19.99 price would see it when they ranging your sale up.

youre right. The Garden City location shows the deal but the two stores close to me still show regular prices. Wonder if they will match it? Maybe worth the drive though.

That's fine. If you want to run longer get a used oil analysis to make sure you aren't diluting with fuel. Blackstone Labs can give you a pretty good picture.
