I decided to try the experiment on my tail lights and I really like how it turned out (try as I might, I wasn't able to find this done on a Pre-96 XJ).
Supplies Needed:
1,000 grit sand paper
Testor's Candy Apple Red Transparent Spray Paint (found anywhere model cars are sold)
Straight Razor
Painter's Tape
Patience
Old Left Side Tail Light:
New Left Side Tail Light:
Comments? I really like the new look! I'll do the right side tomorrow

I think you can heat the lights and the color will fade. Maybe use like a heat gun and heat the orange part so it will fade some and then paint it read. Then you may not have a orange color that will shine through. You have to find a way to not heat the read as much and melt the lens. Or maybe see if you can fade it all and when you paint it red it will match perfect. I know some honda guys do it to there rear lights. I dont know if it will work on a jeep light though.
