Default TCC & Overdrive Dual Solenoid location?

so my jeep was not sifting properly so i took it to a mechanic to diagnose the issue he told me it was this part ( http://www.rostrapowertrain.com/products/52-0266/) witch is the TCC and overdrive dual solenoid. the problem i am haveing is that from all the diagrams and internet searches i can not find a picture of where it goes. The guy told me that all i would need to do was drop the pan to change it but when looking at bottom with the pan off i only see 3 solenoids that look nothing like the one i just spent 120 bucks on. any and all help would be appreciated.

That's because that solenoid combination is for the 42re used in Grand Cherokees, not the AW4 that's in your Cherokee. The 42re is a Chrysler transmission. Yours is an Aisin-Warner AW4. (Built by the Japanese for Toyota among others.)

Have you tried a throttle shift cable adjustment?

Whether you return it is up to you. But it certainly won't work on your XJ. Yes you would likely get a solenoid kit and do all of them while you are in there.

What are the symptoms? Normally you want to eliminate the easy causes, such as the throttle position sensor, poor connections, and throttle cable first.

i figured it out today all it was was the battery ground cable was grounding out and causing it to throw codes in the trans witch to me makes no sense to me but i drove it for 45 min today trying my best to get it to act up and it preformed flawlessly. does this make sense to anyone?

Only if it was grounding out a supply circuit. Or had a loose connection.
