Does any one know if Cherokee's from 91 to 96 use the same tcu? there are no salvage yards with a 96 but with all the years around it.

I guess when you say "tcu" you are referring to the TCM.
Looks like the '96 TCM is a stand alone part number. Part numbers before and after '96 are different

Engine: 4.Slow
TCU: Transmission Control Unit. On earlier model Xjs, the transmission control unit was seperate from the ECU. It was located under the pass side dash.

I pulled one from a '95 this morning and it was the same brand and the same 16 pin harness. Fixed my issue and it runs and shifts great.
