Temp gauge scale?
While browsing some old postings, I ran across a homebrew temp gauge scale that someone had ginned up, but can't find it again to save my life. In other words, not just the stock temps that are already on the gauge, but several temps on either side of the 210 mark. I would really like to be able to monitor my temps a little more closely.

I know on 97+ the tick mark before 210* is 188* and the one right after 210* is 222*. On pre-97 I believe the mark between 100* and 210* is 160* and the one inbetween the middle and 260* is 240*.

That is the one, thank you very much.
Now for my next question regarding this:
Now for my next question regarding this:
How does one measure the output of the temp sending unit? I am not necessarily questioning the accuracy of the "author" of the work, I am simply asking how I would be able to do the same thing at home. I am considering purchasing the white gauge DIY templates from the guy at go.jeep-xj.info, and was curious if he might be willing to do something similar. I have no desire for it to look ghetto if I can avoid it.
I wanted to add: I realize that adding to the existing gauge markings is simply math and geometry, I simply wish to be able to verify the "new" readings.

If your XJ is OBD-II ('96 up), you can plug a scan tool into the ALDL port under the dash and get digital coolant temp readings from the ECU. When the needle reaches a given mark, record the digital temp reading. There's no math or geometry to my drawing....just simple arithmetic. LOL
