Default Thank you all, for the technical info.

Before you ask, yes I followed cruiser54's guide to the letter! It resolved many problems. Almost all electrical connects were green with corrosion, inside and outside.
The story,
Three months ago I bought a 1990 Cherokee Laredo 4.0 liter with 209k miles. The owner I bought it from had just traded a camper trailer for it. He had really bad stroke/brain bleed right after that. Really bad, liquid food tube in the gut, can barely talk/walk, no balance etc.. constant care. The XJ sat in his yard for 6 years, then I bought it for $800. That included acorns from a mouse all over the engine, dirt dauber nest's, wasp nest's and more spider webs than you can wrap on a stick. The tires still held air. The bad parts found over three months as follows, bad radiator, black rusty water flushed from the block, Vacuum lines missing or going to the wrong place, alternator died last week, both head lights def, aux fan diy wiring bypass, missing aux fan diode assembly, o2 sensor unplugged (def heater), injector orings leaked, FPR leaked at the quick disconnect, blown master cylinder, dragging front caliper, seized rear wheel cylinders, missing e-brake lever from rear passenger drum, worn out tie rod ends, worn out center link ends, worn out track bar ends, worn out side slop in steering gear output shaft to pit-man arm (all lead to death wobble), bad dash ground, burned out dash bulbs, bad blower motor and resistor network, front wipers at half speed, rear washer hose swapped with front washer hose ( why not the connectors! switches would work like normal then), missing rear wiper arm, hatch from newer xj (key and lock and wiring color code different), electric door locks not working, electric windows not working, electric seats not working, e-brake not working, select trac lever seized ( freed up easily), rear leaf springs inverted driver side-flat on passenger side, rusted out gas tank with missing j hook, pump and sender assembly, exhaust doesn't leak but is loud at 92dbm while accelerating, rear hatch window shattered but held up by cheap window tint (this saved the rear for untold years), steering wheel cover melted into gooey tar like substance, door sill rust out stuffed with news paper from 2007!. The cylinder compression varies from 145 (2 cylinders), 140, 135, 120 and 115 psi.
$2300.00 later (includes parts, tires, motor oil, antifreeze, brake fluid, gear oil, transmission fluid, sprays, cleaners ,additives and coolant flush. It runs good, still working on the gas mileage. I came here some time ago and read all and downloaded all I could. I could not have fixed some things before going insane if it were not for the tech advice here.
My low idle/erratic idle trouble was a defective O2 sensor I replaced 2 months ago and today the O2 heater relay I swapped with the anti-lock brake relay (unused as it was converted before I bought it), Idle is normal now and barely changes from drive to park or neutral. I shall see how the mpg changes from 11.5 mpg to something better.
New parts:
new rear leaf springs ( Cut the front eye out, the rubber and the bolt sleeve, then remove bolt, this way you wont break the nut tack weld.!!!!)
1 1/4 inch radiator (had to remove condenser to get it to fit)
converted from closed to open coolant system
new O2 sensor
New Coolant temp sensor ( old one was good)
cleaned throttle body
adjusted TPS
adjusted kick down cable to transmission (lot of slack before)
new duratrend travia AT 235's (5 of them, spare is on matching rim)
new calipers.new wheel cylinders
new track bar
new drag link
new tie rod tube and ends
fluids! fluids! fluids!
hoses
new heater valve for 1996 XJ
vacuum harness's
filters
spark plugs
cleaned ICM, IAC, MAT, CCV orifice and tube
tied down chipped ballast resistor
got electric seats, locks and windows working (disassembled and cleaned all connectors and switches)
installed the headlight relay kit to get battery straight to the headlights. WOW the difference, cost $15, worth is priceless.
new steering gear box (output shaft clunked when turning the steering wheel with the engine off)
In the future:
replace noisy pulley's
convert mechanical fan to electric fan when the bearing gets to loud.
I can't thank every one here enough!
