Thant dang little hole cylinder on timing marker

I've googled- I've searched here...Maybe I am not calling it by the right name.

But I can't find out what that hole is for on the timing marker at the harmonic balancer!

That's for a magnetic probe to read timing - if you turn your harmonic damper around, you'll also see a notch that travels under that hole.

Your use for it? None. DFWAI.
