kstopp, I pushed it down by hand on the tb.
cruiser, the bracket can actually be tweaked? Think it will make enough difference?

Bend it back a bit toward the valve cover.

kstopp, not like that. i pulled the throttle down by hand. but it barely moved after 'zero' it. thats the thing I'm worried about. but it is also a little different than that model. i have the '90 renix. pretty much same stuff though.

i will try tomorrow with just the gas pedal to see if i get anything different, but i don't think it will change.

What's your concern here? What are you trying to address?

get my shifting right. i won't hit 2nd gear till 33-35mph. i don't think i got out of 2nd all the way to 60mph. i saw the detent cable comment and figured i would chase that. do you think i need to go after solenoids? not my biggest feat to tackle, but hell, if it gets this thing running right, i will do it.

Gotta refresh me as I participate in numerous forums, this being my favorite. Cleaned the trans connectors, right?

Ever test the TPS on the Trans side? Tip 8.

Remove and clean the TCU connections under the passenger side dash?

yes sir, i checked the trans connectors. they seemed great, so i didn't mess with them.
have not performed tip 8. i will have to get my 'more tech knowledgable bro' to help me there. I'm kinda dumb when it comes to electrical stuff.

yes i did remove the TCU connector under the passenger dash side. awesome shape like the connectors under the hood.

thank you for 're-titling' the thread. i couldn't figure out how to do it. i messed it up horribly as you can tell. thanks iPhone. smart?!?! sure.....

Tip 8 is huge right now. Watch your brother, although I feel you could do this on your own.

What is this video that Cruiser posted?
And is it only applicable to automatic transmissions?

thats it, with the ogre hand and all. i guess i will be trying the tip #8 next. see if i can figure it out. I'm kinda dumb in that dept with all the probing and stuff. I'm used to using a hammer to fix stuff. things an oilfield flowback hand does. this bad boy has definitely tested me

It's good to stretch and increase your knowledge base and bag of tricks/skills.
