We got those wires swapped but everytime we try to turn it over, it just clicks. Changd out starter, and got new battery still just clicks not sure y. But a big ol Ford pickup had enuf ***** behind it to get it started. lol didn't do anything else with it tonite cuz it was raining.
Tonite was the last nite. I leave for the hotel tomorrow evening for my vacation to Disney. I guess the jeep will have to wait til I get back, but I will be back on it when I get home on 19th. Have a great week everyone.

Hey guys! I'm Back!!!
Vac was great, I love Disney, I love Florida.
Back to business...
Only tried a couple times to adjust timing. The guy that looked at it before vac said hes sure its timing. He is very busy this week but will try to stop by wed nite. The clicking when trying to start it was that its not getting enuf juice. My little jumper cables aren't enough to cut it, we had to get some big thick cables and it started right up. I'm in a much better frame of mind now and I'm not feeling so stressed or upset about the jeep. We'll get it running sooner or later...

Good to hear you're back and feeling refreshed and enthusiastic.
And that you learned the 'skinny jumper cable' lesson the easy way. To be stuck out somewhere needing a jump and only having a 16g cable is the pits.
Will wait to hear, K

Try just turning the distributor 1 tooth and starting. If it sounds better you know your on the right track if it sounds worse try turning it 1 tooth in the opposite direction from the original position. Just play with it for a while and see what happens. Also make sure the map sensor is hooked up right and working properly. Just because you got a new one doesnt mean it works right. Ive gotten new parts from parts stores before that have been defective. Well good luck.

Actually I never did find out. After vacation we tried a few more things but never came up with anything that helped, so I took a loss and sold it to a man whos son was going to school for mechanics. Don't know if they ever figured it out or not. Sometimes I wish I would've found out but then again, I would've been very upset had it been something simple and cheap to fix and we couldn't figure it out.
