Tinting taillights and turn signals?

In regards to HID headlights, and once again I can only speak for Arkansas law Vehicle lighting is regulated by law and does not allow for HID lighting to be installed aftermarket. It requires that lighting be of OEM type. So if it did not come from the factory with them it is illegal to install them on an XJ. That said If you are going to put HID lights in stay away from the goofy color temps that show up pink purple green or most especially blue. The State Police here use a test of placing a plain white sheet of paper in front of the illuminated headlights and if it shows up as any color other than white it is citable. at least in the white to yellowish color temp it doesn't obviously jump out as illegal.

Here's a perfect example of why hid's belong in projectors.
Top is my XJ. H4 hid in autopal housings.
Bottom is my YJ. Bixenon retrofitted projectors
Both have 6k temp bulbs. Notice how nice the pattern is with the projector and with the autopal it throws light everywhere.
( I put the hid in for comparison pics I took them out already in the XJ )

Exactly my point.
Thank you for the side by side comparison and DOUBLE thank you for not running them other than for the test.
I really REALLY wish the cops around here would start ticketing people for this.

I completely agree. It seems some of these rarely enforced laws are just used to give the police a reason to stop someone and look for bigger things....
