okay so i tried disconnecting a few sensors and the only one that made a difference was the flat 3 connector on the tps. so i cut one out of the junkyard and wired it in. it made it alot better actually. the engine doesnt sputter near as badd when im accelerating. but it does still stutter right around 1500 rpm's (normally at 35 mph) thats also where the transmission shifts into overdrive. if i shift the gear shifter into 3 instead of drive it still does it and it stops doing it as soon as i put my foot into it a little more.

Do you have the trans switch in Power or Comfort?

Ever done this?

Put the switch in Power and try that. The Comfort mode was eliminated in later years.

Did the switch light up when you put it in Power mode?

If not, check the 7.5 amp "trans" fuse in your fusebox.

yep so could the stutter when i accelerate be caused by one of my injectors being clogged a little? or maybe a bad fuel filter?

Fuel filter should be changed if you haven't changed it in the last 30,000 miles or aren't sure.

I recommend getting upgrade injectors for Renix Jeeps for two reasons. One is that they're old and the newer style work better. Secondly, the original injectors are prone to leaking externally and causing engine fires.
Programbo here on the forum can supply you with the correct replacements.

Mine was as simple as a tune up. Idk if yours is the same problem just throwing possibilities. Check your plugs mine were gapped out wide enough to fit in the fin of the valve cover and ran fine till shifting into od it would miss a for a second. No codes ether

Okay so its been a while since this thread but I'm still looking for answers I kinda gave up for a while but now I'm back at it because its getting annoying. I started by doing some research and disconnecting random sensors. When I disconnect the IAT sensor nothing changes at all so I took it out and cleaned it as best I could. Here is a pic of it after cleaning.
