Tps sensor problems or maybe something else triggering it?
Yesterday I went mudding for a bit nothing to crazy maybe like 1 feet of water for like 15 min and when I was heading home my idle was acting up and would take along time to shift to the next gear then my check engine light went on and gave me code p0121 then I erased it and later on it gave me p0123 and has stayed like that.
I cleaned out the tps sensor and had a lil bit of dirt and noticed that when I unplug it my idle goes back to normal and smooths out but as soon as I plug it back in the rough idle starts again. I seen a YouTube video of some guy with the same problem on the exact same year xj and he bought a new one and the problem was still there so I just wanted to see if you guys could help me out before I replace it and possibly waste my money and still have the problem. I have a 98 cherokee 4.0 4x4

If you are going to ask for free help, at least make the effort to create a readable post.

If irritating those folks is more important to you than using punctuation, you will reap what you sow.

I agree that using puncuation helps immensely as none makes it hard to follow. But to get things going, the TPS is very sensitive to moisture. The TPS, TPS connector, or both may have some moisture in them. Got a hair dryer? Try that. Might help, might not. Also, check the harness by the valve cover to make sure there are no broken wires contacting an engine stud. You could also try disconnecting the battery for a bit to clear the code. Might come back, might not. IF you decide to replace the TPS, go Mopar. Check everything out first before replacing stuff. One is free. The other is not.
