Default TPsensor throwin a code

Well i just replaced the ball joints in the front of my Jeep and on the way home from my shop the check engine light came on and the Jeep started shiftin funny. The next time i started her up it would idle at about 2 thousand RPMs but would run at about 1 thousand RPMs in reverse, drive, 3rd, 2nd, and 1st gear. The codes it was runnin are P0122 and P0700. P0122 is the Throttle positioning sensor and P0700 is Transmission control module. Tonight i checked the wiring and replaced the TPS and cleared the codes. The check engine light went off but the code reader keeps readin off those two codes. The Jeep runs fine now though. I need some help, this is beyond my mind. I have a 1997 Cherokee with a 4.0 I6. I was also wonderin if anyone could tell me if you half to have mud flaps on a vehicle if it sits a certain height. Help would be great, thanks

you probably fixed it, cheap code readers don't erase codes usually, need a good scanner to do so.

Agree with advice above.

Need to clear the codes now that the repair has been performed. Those codes can hang around for a while (a pre-determined amount of engine cycling until it knows that the problem no longer exists).....

Drive it around for a few days and the check engine light should go off by itself, if there is no problems.

If the problem is gone, the check engine light should NOT illuminate. However, the store codes will be retained for a while. (by design)
