I have a 94 GC 4L 42re When I cycle the key I get code 24 for the trani. (overdrive override lamp output) Trani won't shift into OD at hwy speed
What is the repair/fix for this if anyone can let me know as no idea what this one is about.
Any info would be greatly appreciated....qtownguy

Check your brake light switch.. on my '93 the holder broke and the switch was out of adjustment. I fixed it with a small hose clamp. If out of adjustment, the switch prevents OD and torque converter lockup. I don't know if that's the problem, but worth a look. You might also adjust the TV cable. Did it work before and just stopped? Hope it's something simple.

Side note:
today when driving rpm/speed held steady at 80 kph (50 mph) and push OD button to shut off (light goes on) rpm's drop aprox 150-200rpm. And when switch OD on again(light off) at same steady speed it goes back up the same amount. A small amount but basically *** backwards..... if this means anything as to OD problem.
Thanks,

I checked out the brake switch the continuity checked out fine and it snapped back into its lock and isn't loose. I had adjusted the TV cable but will double check it again today. The OD never worked since I bought it last month but previous owners daughter said she thought it was working but who knows.
I thought the code 24 would help as to what the issue is but can't find any info on what to check or do for that code. Nothing in Haynes manual or that I can find online as to the fix for this (or really any codes) just what they are. Some are straight forward ie "voltage too high or low" this one is vague lol
