Default Tranny Codes- CEL P0700, P0753, P0751, P0715

Jeep is throwing these codes and sometimes takes awhile to go into first.. I cleared the codes and they returned after 2 key cycles and 10 miles..

1998 Cherokee Classic 4.0L 6 Cylinder 4WD

P0700 Trans control system malfunction (To my understanding this is a temporary code)

P0753 Shift solenoid A circuit electrical

P0751 Shift solenoid A CKT performance or stuck off

P0715 input/turbine speed sensor A circuit malfunction

I am not new to cars and am fairly mechanically inclined but am new to Jeeps.. any help is appreciated

This points to a potential "solenoid" issue.

I would start by testing all solenoids. And if any doubt, replace them. A new set is about $125 ordered online.

I've noticed this forum is afraid of tyranny questions. I was asking the same questions when my 98 was throwing solenoid codes and torque converter malfunction. I ended up blowing a front pump seal and just getting a new tranny.

with all those circuit codes it seems electrical i would start by checking the Ohms in the solenoids and if everything checks fine pin out the harness from the computer going to the trans Oh and P0700 is just there to let you know there is a problem with the trans
