Tranny issue
i have a 92 jeep cherokee, im trying to exhaust every option before replacing my tranny (due to time and money) but i changed filter, changed fluid. the tranny lines were leaking pretty bad so i went ahead and cut them/replaced them when i put the tranny cooler in, bypassed the radiator altogether. it was slipping pretty bad before i did all of the above. it slips a little bit now mostly if i come to a complete stop and then i push the gas to go its revs up then goes...any insight as to what i can check or do before having to replace it...thanks!

Me thinks that in all the time it was leaking that it probably ran low a number of times -that is if u were filling it back up- and now the clutches and steels in the trans are gone.
Meaning u need a new/rebuilt unit.
If was slipping before -u were leaking fluid-now u have corrected most of the problems but I think its to late. Others will chime in on what my be wrong but im stickin to this.
Questions- Was it ever ran low and the slipping occurred- then u put fluid in ? For any length of time was it low ? Did it smell burnt at all- color not look so good ?

You say it revs up before it goes. Do you mean there is a delay before it engages, or does it seem to be slipping?
Try pulling out in 1-2 and then shift to 3 and D at 2500 rpm or so and see if that works any better.
It doesn't sound like a TCU or TPS problem form your description.
BTW, I was perusing the Harrisburg area Craiglist and saw some XJs for parts.
