Default Tranny jerk

I got a 97 Cherokee country automatic with 110,000 It's been jerking forward when I put it the shifter in reverse, and drive.... I've noticed that its been getting worst and worst and it jumps forward about two inches, and my breaks go in a little too and makes a loud noise. Like I said, it's been like this ever since I've owned it which is a year or two now but it just started getting worst and makes a louder sound and jerks forward and backward more. Has anyone had this problem before? Any solutions? I really hope it's not my tranny

Check the fluid. Sounds like it may just be low. Mines did that when my shaft seal went bad and started slowly leaking tranny fluid.

I'd be looking at the engine and trans mounts. Been doing this for a year?

I'm having the exact problem.
Changed engine and tranny mount.
Slip Joint greased.

I have a feeling mine could be a slacked transfer case chain.

No help.....

Wish someone can help OP and many like myself.

Slack tcase chain wouldn't do that. The chain only affects the front driveline and driveshaft. A slack tcase chain would cause it to skip in 4wd but won't affect it in 2wd.

did you check the fluid at a hot idle in neutral? on relatively flat ground? just making sure, ive seen alot of people check the fluid with the engine not running and it messes with the level, gives you false readings.

I checked it on flat ground on park not in neutral. I'll check neutral tmrw and my check engine light came on too... I wonder if it has to do anything with that.

Okay so I did the tranny flush and it got a little better... But then it got worst again.... Engine light came on. Diagnosed it with po700 and po753. I made a separate thread about this. ?
