Is This Transmission Mount Bad - Video Inside
Hello,
Some Back Story: I have a 1999 Jeep Cherokee w/ 6.5 lift. I have been chasing down a drive line vibration for some time. The vibration is apparent on highway around 55+ mph. If I remove the rear driveshaft and drive the truck in 4wd with just the front driveshaft, the vibrations are gone.
I recently bought a new Tom Woods custom length rear driveshaft with the mindset that my old shaft was bad. Well, the new shaft only made the vibrations about 10-15% better, and the vibes are still pretty bad. Also, the vibrations are felt during acceleration or deceleration anywhere within the highway speeds of 55 +
Now, Ive rotated tires, checked pinion angle, u-joints, axle wrap. You name it. I have other threads on this forum about this issue, I have done much research and have nearly given up.
But now...
I am thinking that my transmission mount may be bad and could be a possible cause for this. Check out this quick video to see the play in the mount using a crow bar. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmeOv...ature=youtu.be and let me know what you guys think. Make the video full screen to get the full effect.
Even if the mount isn't totally wasted, could the play in the mount now be causing this issue?
Also, because of the long arm kit the replacement of the mount becomes a bit more invasive.
Let me know what you guys think.
Thanks!
