Angry Transmission problem?

My 2001 cherokee xj broke down the other day and I swapped out my crankshaft position sensor With a duralast from autozone and ever since I plugged it in my cars been shifting at weird times I don’t know if it’s a wiring issue or if something else just went out? It almost feels as if it’s bumping when it shifts but my transmission fluid is full and I can’t plug a code reader into it because ever since I bought it the thing won’t even turn a code reader on!!?
if anyone could help me out it’d be much appreciated!!

You should check the wiring and connector very carefully, and consider replacing the crank sensor with a Mopar brand,
as many people on this list are of the opinion that aftermarket CPS can be bad from the box or fail soon after,

I personally have a couple of spare OEM items from wrecked vehicles

The TPS sensor would have the most effect on when it shifts. Test it and checkout the wiring to it.

another possibility would be the shift solenoids in the transmission. cheap and easy to replace on your own. much more money for a shop to do it.

thankyou i recently reordered a crankshaft sensor it helps with my problem a little bit but it still bucks when i take my foot off of the gas I'm currently waiting on a throttle body sensor for it but i don't think that's the issue, also idk if this helps but it only starts bucking when I've been driving for awhile and usually stomping on the gas after stops it from bucking and it straightens back out??
