So the nss didnt fix anything besides my weird starting issues. The jeep still has the shifting problem. It only occurs once the engine heats up to normal temp and then when i come to a stop and go it feels like its taking off in 3rd gear. I'm thinking its my shift solenoid like someone previously stated. Any advice?

Thanks for reminding me actually lol I just now did and started it up, no check engine light for once! drove it around til normal operating temp and it all seemed fine. I think this may have fixed, I guess I'll have to wait and drive it around a bit to see. Thanks!

I've also read a bunch of things about people who have had similar problems, replaced the solenoids, and still had problems. I don't want that to be me so I'm tryin to rule other things out first. I've heard theirs a way to test the solenoids through the connecting pins into the tcu but the only manuel that has shown how has 16 pins whereas mine has 13

I have read of others that, took the solenoids out and, while using a 12V supply to "open/close" ( or whatever you wanna call their "action" ) them sprayed them with throttle body cleaner to get them un-gummed up and then put them back in with successful results.

I might have to try that. But I heard you can test the resistance to the solenoids through the wiring harness that connects into the tcu, its supposed to be between 11-15 ohms. Well I tried it on two different dmm's and had my dad try it also.. couldnt get any resistance on any of the pins that are supposed to connect into the tcu

Does anybody know if the nss has anything to do with the torque converter not locking? I put a new converter on my aw4 because my flexplate was cracked(thought i would put a new tc on too while it was apart) and now it doesnt lock like the old one did. Already tried resistance tests and tried locking it manually still no go?

Check the tips and all the sensors on that 5 volt circuit. Mine had a bad tips, was shifting almost never. It threw the same selenoid codes, swapped the tips out of another xj and it shifted perfect. Try it cheap enough
