I just got a 98 xj not to long ago. I got the codes ran and it was pulling the tps code and transmission control system p0700. I fixed the the tps and it stopped bogging down and ran good. The other day I pressure washed it for the first time and it does have hood vents so something could of got wet. When I drove it it wouldn't come out of first gear or go over 20 mph. And now it idles around 1 1/2 to 2 grand in park and nutreual. And when I shift it into drive and reverse it's really rough moves the whole jeep. And sometimes it acts like it's gonna die. So i changed the filter gasket and fluid on trans. But it didn't help. Before washing it it ran just fine no problems. Could it be the trans control module code that it was pulling or what. And on the wires from the harness that go to the trans control there was just a little bit of corrosion buti cleaned it off and let everything sit and dry for a couple days and still is doing it

Could be a bad throttle position sensor.
