Default Transmission swap?

I have a 92 XJ with an AX-15 w/ 119,000 miles. My 1999 Cherokee Classic's AW4 is starting to slip. It's especially noticeable when pulling my 2200# bass boat.

I've read several manual to auto swap threads. Is there a reason why I can't swap my AX-15 from the '92 into the '99?

I appreciate the input!

Yea you can swap it the other way. The obvious is easy, swap over the pedal, master (idk if you have to cut a hole in the firewall or there just a cover) crossmember, trans, driveshafts and all that. Ive talked to several that have done it and what they did was trick the trans computer by putting the NSS into neutral. You will also need to swap over the flywheel and get the right sized pilot bushing for the AX15.

You do need to drill the firewall but there should be an X to mark where it goes

Is there any negative effect from having the neutral safety switch, right?, in neutral? I'd love to swap it. I just replaced the slave cylinder, it's internal, so I would think it would be good for awhile.

Any negatives with the swap?
