Okay, OEM parts can be bought from a Chrysler dealer. OEM means, "Original Equipment Manufacturer". Also, some places on line carry genuine Mopar parts, but be careful there. It may say Mopar on the page (like that one you asked about) but that does not mean it's really a genuine Mopar part. I'm pretty sure that one is not.
NTK/NGK is the name of a the Japanese company that made a lot (most) of the original electrical parts for our Jeeps. If you get it from the dealer, it will say NGK on it, if you get it from another source, it will probably say NTK. Same thing. This is what you want.
And yeah, it seems hard to believe, but there is plenty of evidence of that right here on this board and every other Jeep board on the 'Net.

NGK/NTK make quite a few of the electronics... sensors and such... if they aren't OEM they are as good as... as far as o2 sensors go, they can't be beat... there is a webpage that sells them- something like ngksparkplugs.com, which also sell the legitimate o2 sensors under name NTK (same company, but labled differently for their plugs, for some reason)...
Denso also makes a ton of OE for Mopar and others... their quality is just as good as NGK/NTK.

It seems we are kind of all over the map here. Basics, check fuel pressure running, and bleed down. Ignition, yes, ckps and cps really will NOT like anything but genuine MOPAR, even if you have to get a cam sensor from the bone yard it is better than an new standard, and crank sensor, there just is no comparison. OEM only on those, "ask me how I know" says it all. Some things to get right from the start.

Has anyone replaced their CPS with an OEM part and remembers where they got it from? I'm having a hard time finding one. Have heard that parts for a '96 are hard to find, but I've never had trouble until now..

I have, mopar crank sensor from the dealer, was $140 and change, but, the magnet in the old one was about 3x stronger than the new duralast one.
I then replaced the cam sensor under the dizzy cap, twice, with duralast parts, both of them failed within a week, (we are talking no start and ran pretty iffy)) so went to the junkyard and pulled a mopar from a donor with 200k on the clock, for $4 and it's still in there running like a champ. That one I would go to the JY but the crank you should go new.

Here's a source. '96 CPS part number 56026921 (round pin).
For some reason Chrysler likes to call everything a vehicle speed sensor (LOL)
