Troubleshooting Starting Problems
Lately, I've had problems with my jeep not starting. Originally I thought it was a drained battery (can't remember the last time it was changed), but I had it tested and it's fine. Tested all the cables, no problems. Cleaned terminals, no difference. Checked relays and nss, they're not the problem either. I can start it by jumping at the starter solenoid, so I know that and the starter are working.
When I try and start with the key, I just get a click. Dash lights come on as well as a/c. When I jump at the starter, everything works great.
What link am I missing? I've searched the forums, but all the tips haven't worked. Anything new helps. Thanks

A/C cant come on without engine running.
Clean grounds, including the mating surface from starter.
How did you check NSS and relays?
Starter seems to work fine, problem is located in electrical part.

I did just mean the blower, haha. I bought a new relay since there so cheap, and the problem was still there. I guess the NSS could still be the problem, but I ruled it out because my reverse lights still work correctly, and no amount of jiggling and shifting gets it to turn over. I pulled it carefully, cleaned it/rebuilt it, but maybe it is the problem.

Sorry, I suggested "ignition switch" when I meant the starter switch. Old man moment
The starter switch is the 'linkage assembly' that the key cylinder fits in. I got one at rockauto dot com for about $25 Hope this helps you
