Default trying to re-use sye kit on newer t-case.

i have searched everywhere to find information. i bought a used 6.5" rustys lift kit. and the guy i bought it from just gave me his tranny with the t-case and the sye kit installed. i dont know what condition the t-case is in, so i am trying to just remove the sye and put it on my newer jeep. and i cannot figure out how to get the thing off! i have searched high and low and i cant find anything on reusing these things. is it even possible? can anyone help walk me through the process or point me in the right direction. thanks

That seems like an awful lot of work.

Unless he really beat on it or ran it low on fluid everything should be good. If anything I would take it apart and check the internals, replace anything if needed and then install that one. If you feel the need, keep yours for a spare or parts.

There is a good chance it was drained after being removed.

To be on the safe side, just check all the internals for wear marks and the chain for being stretched out. Also, look at the plastic pads that are on the forks to see what condition they are in.
