yeah i was guessing on the hp but i knew it was around there. i dont have personal experience in stroking a 4.0L (yet) but it sounds like a great idea and maybe a better option than super/turbochargers by getting power and leaving the engine naturally aspirated.
ive heard rumors of a guy getting about 600hp out of a turbo/supercharged stroker 4.0/4.5 motor
does anyone have an idea where to find this? it does seem plausible if you think about it

jp magazine and 505 performance did the one you speak of.

jp magazine should have it somewhere. you can get on there site and look throught there stuff

it wasnt a 4.6 though it was a turboed 5.0 (a 4.0 strucked and punched out really far)

These are not street fast cars! If you want that, get a bmw! Or almost anything else...

I HAVE BOTH

Don't want your XJ to be a Firebird wantabee do you?
what are you talking about?

a supercharger is more effective how?
a turbo is more efficient than a supercharger and has the ability to make way more useable power without the sacrificing power to make power like the SC does.

and you can build a turbocharger kit for much less than a SC setup

My q is has any one put an lt1 in a cherokee. Granted the one i have siting in a crate is gana have way to mutch power but i wanted to know if any one has had problems with what they ran into. The vortec was a pain and a lot of work but i wana go one step further. So any info would be grate.

if you already put a vortec 350 in an XJ, then the LT1 will actually be easier.
