I noticed the front driver's turn signal wasn't working, so I replaced the bulb. after doing this, whenever the lights are on the turn signal indicator on the dash is on too.

When I use the blinker it gets brighter when it blinks but the driver's turn indicator on the dash never goes off. If the lights are off everything functions as normal.

I've tried a different bulb and moving the wires around with no change. where do I go from here?

 

I'd start by looking for a marginal ground at one of the lights on that side.

 

Try a different bulb. It's rare, but I've seen them with an internal short and that will cause the same issues you're having.

I've tried 4 bulbs, none of them work normally. They blink, but don't stay on at reduced output like they should with the lights on. maybe a different brand or type of bulb would be worth a try? this all started after changing one that would no longer blink.
