turn signals and windshield wipers stopped working

update. went to drop the steering column this morning and everything was working again so i drove the jeep to work everything was working but on the way back home i got the same symptoms again

do u guys still think its the switch?

Yes I bet the plug is melted

I had those similar symptoms once but my plug didnt melt, my iod fuse blew and turn signal relay went bad

Not JUST the plug melted. The ignition switch is burned up at the terminal where the brown wire hooks up.

where is the IOD fuse on the 89 xj?

Its in the fuse box in the engine bay. Its one of the little 15 amp blue fuses i think. Sorry i dont have a pic. I am on my phone

gonna buy a cheap 10$ igniton switch from a local parts store today and install it hopefully i get my blinkers/wipers back
