Hey everybody, just in the last day or so I have noticed that when I turn tightly it feels like the wheels are almost locking up. I have to widen my turn in order to avoid what I feel like (haven't pushed it this far though) would cause something to brake. It almost feels like when you turn real sharp while in 4x4, but every time this has happened I have been in regular 2x4. There also seems to be an unusual amount of "road noise" lately. I say road noise and not engine noise because it doesn't matter the rpm, just actual speed that increases the noise. The jeep seems to be driving doggishly as well. My wife and I switch cars a lot so I'm not exactly sure how long it's been driving in what manner, but I've been driving it all week and yesterday afternoon and today was the first time I had trouble turning.

Random facts that might help: it's been very cold here in NC this week, not getting above 30. The tires are not new and I have never had any trouble before with these tires. The alignment doesn't seem to be off much if at all.

Jack it up check front bearings for play.

 

Check the other steering components as well, with somebody turning the steering wheel and you look at the whole linkage etc.
Fluid in steering pump reservoir ok?
Stuck in 4WD...!?
