u-joint question

every time i bought an off the shelf u joint at autozone or advance it broke on the first wheeling run. pdq, duaralast, and brute force are all garbage imo.

I only buy spicer now and have never broken one.

www.quadratec.com has them for a reasonable price and they always get here in a couple days.

They hold up ok for smaller sized tires but once you go large they don't fare too well. I've used brute u-joints on my tj with 33's for years. I didn't manage to break em but i did have to change em every year cuz the bearings dried up. That's normal for muddin vehicles anyways.

went to the german chrysler dealer and i took the old one with, sure nuff they got me the right ones. i paid the 73 euro (107 and change american) on brand new mopar ones, part no.1-v8017757aa. work awesome. ive never bought such expensive friggin u-joints in my life LOL

you did not overpay cus you probably got spicer or equal parts
and in the states they cost 40to50 bucks

yeah i wasnt so angry payin for em cause last nite when i started the thread and someone posted what u joint it was, i realized its right about the same price.. oh well... thanks for everyones help on this!
